Hunters in Pennsylvania are on the brink of getting a couple extra days to hunt. Pennsylvania Game Commission has given preliminary approval to change the Monday after Thanksgiving deer opener to Saturday. The addition of 3 days to the season cuts turkey season by one day. The shorting of the turkey season should help the declining population. The commission meets in April to vote on this issue. Other measures that were approved are solutions to an increasing bear population. The addition of a muzzleloader, special firearm season and extending archery season aims to lower that population. Another change is excluding archery bear, deer and fall turkey hunters from wearing orange. 99 acres of land will be purchased by the commission for hunters to use. The youth mentor program also changes to allow youth up to age 17 to hunt without a license.

How do you feel about 3 extra days added to the deer season?
