Heavy fines are levied against, Junior Troyer, an Ohio man convicted of poaching. Troyer shot an 8 point buck on the morning of November 7th and then decided to shoot another deer. The 2nd deer was a 26 pointer who garnered the nickname “HAY RAKE”. 2 deer in one day with only 1 tag is a bad idea, but not his only misgiving that day. Troyer decapitated both bucks and used the 8 point body and 26 point head on his tag. The next day he turned the 26 point deer’s headless body in as a doe. With $27,904.06 in restitution to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for the deer, and other fines and court fees, Troyer’s total fine is over $28k.

Such a shame that a buck-of-a-lifetime like this was taken through poaching. Anyone have any other similar stories happen near your hunting grounds?
