Nevada Department of Wildlife officials are looking for information regarding the poaching of a mule deer. The poaching incident took place near South Fork Reservoir in Elko County. The deer was most likely killed during the night of July 31st. Likewise, the deer was then left to waste in a residential section near the reservoir. The following morning officials were called by a resident reporting a dead buck in their yard.
Once officials arrived on the scene they found evidence of the poaching but very little to lead them to who did the poaching.
“This is a senseless act that should have people upset. Our hope is that someone will come forward with information that will help us solve this crime.” – Nevada State Game Warden Lieutenant Buck Tingle
Wildlife officials rely heavily on the public to help them gather information on cases like these. Currently, there is a $1,000 reward from Operation Game Thief (OGT). The reward will be paid to individuals who have information leading to a conviction of this crime. Anyone who saw or heard anything can call the OGT hotline at (800) 992-3030 or use the new NDOW Tip app to report information.
