Prince Harry has reportedly sold his custom hunting guns. The two custom firearms were built by British gunmaker Purdey. The firearms were sold to a weapons collector for a reported $60,000. Prince Harry had learned to hunt as a child. The Royal Family would go on hunting trips quite often. During the family hunts, Harry had traveled to many locations. Scotland, Germany, and South Africa were visited for hunting trips by the Royal Family. Harry had taken many animals including Wild Boars, Red Deer, and Water Buffalo. However, Harry had seemed to be going hunting less often since his engagement to Meghan Markle. His last known hunting trip was over Christmas when the family went on their annual pheasant hunt. The disinterest in hunting may have led to Harry selling his custom firearms.
Reports that Harry gave up Hunting to please his Wife
Reports from people close to the couple state that Harry has quit hunting to please his wife. For example, Meghan Markle has been quoted saying she tries to eat a vegan diet as much as possible. It is also reported that Markle is opposed to hunting and “doesn’t like it.” During their time together it is reported Markle will fake sick or suddenly get headaches to avoid going on the family hunting trips. During the most recent family pheasant hunt, Kate Middleton waited for Markle a few extra days before finally departing to join the family. With his wife’s apparent intolerance for hunting, it seems likely that he has given up hunting for her. During a conversation with Dr. Jane Goodall, a friend of Markle’s, she had this to say:
“I think Harry will stop because Meghan doesn’t like hunting,”
