The new year means new laws and lawmakers in Maine have been busy. This legislative session will see a slew of bills presented. Here are the topics of the legislation:

  • Allowing Sunday hunting in unorganized territories.
  • The expansion of coyote hunting to every day of the season.
  • Extending the turkey season and bag limit of turkey.
  • Expanding youth hunting to protect Maine’s hunting heritage.
  • An act introduced will lengthen the deer season by 2 Saturdays if passed.
  • And a measure to allow a spring bear season.

EHUNTR staff will update the results of pending legislation at as soon as the results are available.

How would passing these acts help or hinder the hunting in Maine?
