New Jersey boasts about its turkey program. Back in the 1800s turkeys were gone from New Jersey due to habitat changes and killing for food. They were reintroduced in 1977 when 22 birds were released. There is now an abundance of turkeys state-wide. The state-wide population is around 20,000-23,000 and about 3,000 are taken by hunters each year.

Anyone ever had success in New Jersey chasing this thriving species?
