Maine is boasting huge success this year. Hunters in Maine have notched their tags on more than 30,000 deer this year. Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife officials increased tag numbers by 28 percent this year after the deer herd survived a moderate winter. Maine holds the most deer in New England and the hunters are helping keep those numbers in check.
