Hunting bluebills can be a lot of fun or very frustrating when hunting public land. Over the years I’ve tried many different options in decoy spreads and have found one that tends to work more times than not. Essentially place decoys in a straight line (long-lines) with 6-12 decoys per line. Place 3-4 lines several feet apart across the spread. Once completed back fill with coots and other decoys to increase confidence. Granted sometimes simply using long-lines works as well, depending on the weariness of the birds you’re after.

Hope this helps! Tune in next week for another Waterfowl Wednesday Wing-Tip of the Week! Anyone have any questions they’d like to see answered in this series?
