University of Minnesota researchers conducted a study of residents and landowners and the results are surprising. Approval for the reintroduction of elk among landowners averaged support in the mid-70s percentage range. Non land owners support was in the low 70s . Elk always roamed Minnesota but were extirpated in the area over 120 years ago by European settlers. Wildlife and forest managers have narrowed down 3 potential areas for the elk reintroduction. Approval of the plans still needs to come from state and tribal agencies.

Any reintroduction of animals to native ranges is to be applauded. Do you support the reintroduction?
