Become an outdoors-woman will be a weekend program sponsored by the DNREC, September 28th through the 30th. The event will be held at Cape Henlopen State Park. You can register here and the deadline is September 7th. This event will offer a wide range of courses including Firearms Cleaning and Maintenance, Intro to Archery, Intro to Shotgun, and Outdoor Photography to name a few.
For those not familiar with the “BOW” (Becoming an outdoors-woman) program, it first started in Wisconson in 1991. It is now held in 38 states and 6 provinces with more than 80 workshops each year. The objective of BOW is to provide women with the skills needed to get involved in hunting, shooting, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities.
