It is time for the AZG&F to count deer populations in Arizona. Deer surveys are a vital tool in the overall management of deer herds. The results of the counts affect permit numbers and address any problems within the herd. Arizona Game and Fish officers will be conducting aerial surveys of deer in southern Arizona during January. Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft will be used on the surveys January 3rd thru the 6th, and again on the 17th and 18th. The AZGFD has said there is a possibility of the flights overlapping ongoing hunts.

Has anyone ever seen these flyovers taking place while on a hunt?
